Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.Empower K-12 students across Southern Oregon as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing during the 2026-2027 school year. Two contract positions are available, providing services in locations within Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, and Klamath counties. Opportunities are flexible, offering both in-person and virtual (VOCO) delivery options to best suit your strengths and meet student needs.You'll play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential by providing specialized support, collaborating with staff, and adapting educational plans. This is an engaging opportunity to work with a diverse group of learners and make a meaningful impact throughout the academic year, from August 21, 2026 through June 4, 2027.Desired Skills & Experience:Valid educational licensure for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (or ability to obtain prior to start)Experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, preferably within K-12 environmentsStrong understanding of current best practices for supporting students with hearing differencesExcellent communication and collaboration skillsProven ability to adapt materials and teaching methods for various learning stylesComfortable working in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid model as neededKey Responsibilities:Provide direct instruction and support services to deaf/hard of hearing studentsDevelop and adapt IEP goals, accommodations, and modificationsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external specialistsConduct assessments and help monitor student progressFoster inclusive, accessible, and engaging classroom environmentsThe setting offers a dynamic and supportive work atmosphere where flexibility and expertise are valued.
