The Massage Therapist will consult with guests to screen them for underlying conditions and assist guest with selecting appropriate services. They will perform massages in a manner that prevents injuries to their wrists and other parts of their body. They will also assist guests with inquiries, and explain treatments and packages in a professional and courteous manner.Position Qualifications (Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.):Licensed MT in state of CA, National Certification (City of Santa Monica).2 years minimum experience in hospitality industryAbility to pleasantly communicate with proper grammar in EnglishAbility to provide legible communicationKnowledge of all Spa services5 years' experience working in a luxury spa setting (Preferred)Some college or business school training in hospitality industry (Preferred)Retail experience (Preferred)Well-groomed, professional appearance.Dexterous and able to stand for extended periods.Comfortable with performing massages on diverse clients.High School graduateSkills:Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervisionAbility to work cohesively with other departments and co- workers as part of a team.Ability to focus attention to detailsFlexibility in scheduleAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteousAbility to promote positive relations with all individuals who approach the SpaAbility to prioritize, organize and follow upAbility to maintain confidentiality of all guestAbility to work well under pressureEssential Job Functions:Maintain complete knowledge of: All hotel features / services, hours of operation, Spa services and products, Salon and Fitness Center programsAttend and participating in meetings and training sessions.Ensure a clean, safe, and well-organized spa facility.Setting up spa and work stations, and ensuring cleanliness and tidiness throughout the shift.Assist with keeping linens clean and tidy, and replacing them between sessions.Sterilizing equipment.Accompanying guests to and from treatment rooms.Consulting with clients to identify appropriate massage services.Provide massage services listed in the brochure.Maintain records and filing documentation.Comply with all applicable standards, rules, and regulations.Physical Requirements:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time. The employee is required to frequently repeat the same movements and use your hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. They must also have the ability to use muscles for extended periods without getting tired. Use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods.
