This role is critical in delivering proactive environmental, health, and safety support across a dynamic and fast-paced organization. The ideal candidate is a confident, autonomous operator who thrives while working with minimal supervision and possesses a strong customer service mindset. This position requires a proactive safety leader who can effectively support field teams, leadership, and operational stakeholders both domestically and internationally.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert EHS support to the Business Operations team, acting as a trusted advisor and safety partnerTravel extensively (50%+, including both US and international destinations) to support operational sites, launch activities, manufacturing facilities, and business initiativesConduct site assessments, audits, hazard analyses, and safety inspections with minimal oversightDeliver practical, solution-oriented EHS guidance while maintaining strong relationships with internal customersDevelop and implement safety programs, training, and risk mitigation strategies tailored to operational needsRespond to urgent safety concerns and support incident investigations across multiple locationsChampion a strong safety culture while balancing operational demands and timelinesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance and continuous improvementBasic QualificationsBachelor’s degree5+ years of progressive EHS experience in high-risk or industrial environmentsPreferred Skills And ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field7+ years of progressive EHS experience in high-risk or industrial environmentsExperience in Human and Organizational Performance philosophy and program implementation Advanced degree in safety engineeringExcellent organizational, presentation, training, and communication skillsExperience with interpreting, applying, and documenting federal, state, and local safety regulationsExperience with emergency response communication and incident managementIntermediate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededDemonstrated ability to work autonomously with minimal direction and make sound decisions in the fieldStrong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skillsProven experience supporting business operations or field-based teamsWillingness and ability to travel 50%+ domestically and internationallyDeep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and international EHS regulationsProfessional certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent) strongly preferredAdditional RequirementsPosition occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when neededIf not local to SpaceX site relocation will be necessary.Travel Requirement: 50%+ (significant domestic and international travel)Itar RequirementsTo conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C.1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C.1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
