Senior Platform Engineer

If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it.What You'll Be DoingArchitect, automate, test, deploy, and maintain a well-designed and highly available software infrastructure deployed in Kubernetes within cloud or on-premises environments. Implement practices to enable DevSecOps with a focus on security and compliance for SOC2, NIST 800-171, and FedRAMP Medium controls.You will own the Kubernetes deployment strategy and work with the software development team to ensure a successful architecture and software product. You will help develop secure ingress and egress to customer and vendor data centers in a multi and single-tenant environment. As the team is developing, you will also provide best practices for availability, latency, and performance of services.You will spend time working directly with Quindar's customers to ensure successful architecture deployment to both cloud environments and offline or secure facilities while ensuring alignment to a clean infrastructure vision.You will be a part of the engineering team of frontend and backend engineers working in an Agile Scrum environment.Tech Skills:Expertise managing Kubernetes-based architecture and providing platform infrastructure in a production environmentStrong proficiency developing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions using Terraform or alternative toolsProficiency in Python and experience working with software teams developing distributed microservice software capabilitiesWorking knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similarFamiliarity with cloud services in AWS (preferred) / Azure / GCP and ability to make trades on cloud native vs self-hosted software capabilitiesWorking knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similarUnderstanding of networking using VPN's, NLB/ALB's, HTTPS, TLS, and CDNStrong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized applications, and serverless architectureStrong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architecturesStrong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not requiredUnderstanding of Unix/Linux operating systemsKnowledge of cloud security best practices and cost-effective cloud architectureUse of identity and access management via Auth0 or OktaFamiliarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version controlSoft Skills:Deep technical analysis and troubleshooting skillsIndependent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidanceA high standard for software maintainability, quality, resilience, and performanceStrong communications skills and ability to engage effectively across development teams, program management, and customersBackground Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)3+ years of professional experience as a reliability, systems, DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineerAbility to obtain a security clearance (Secret/Top Secret)ITAR REQUIREMENTS:To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (aka green card holder), (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, or (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
