Rice County is located in southern Minnesota, 50 miles south of the Minneapolis and St. Paul metropolitan area. The county, which encompasses an area of 516 square miles, has seven cities, 14 townships and 12 Rice County Parks. This position will include a variety of upkeep duties, for example, mowing, landscape maintenance, picking up brush and assisting the Highway Maintenance Operators.Seasonal employees may be assigned to work in either the Highway or Parks Department based on operational needs. Requires walking, standing, lifting and bending to a significant degree. Must be 18 years of age or older. Must have ability to work extended hours required.Supplemental InformationHOURS: Highway hours are 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday - Thursday. Parks hours are 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday - Friday. Additional hours may be needed on nights and weekends.
