Job Description CNC Machinist Level 3CNC Machinist Level IIIAbout the Role:The CNC Machinist Level III plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by operating and programming computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components. This position requires a deep understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and materials to ensure that all products meet stringent quality and specification standards. The machinist will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to set up and adjust machines for optimal performance. Collaboration with engineering and quality assurance teams is essential to troubleshoot issues and implement continuous improvements. Ultimately, the role ensures efficient production workflows while maintaining safety and compliance with industry standards.Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.Experience with CNC programming, including G-code.Strong knowledge of machining tools, materials, and measurement techniques.Preferred Qualifications:Associate degree or technical certification in machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.Experience with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.Familiarity with ISO quality standards and lean manufacturing principles.Ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC machines.Previous experience working in aerospace, automotive, or medical device manufacturing.Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines including lathes, mills, and grinders to manufacture parts according to specifications.Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machining processes and tooling requirements.Program CNC machines using G-code and other programming languages and make necessary adjustments to optimize production.Perform routine inspections and quality checks on finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Collaborate with engineers and quality control personnel to resolve machining issues and improve manufacturing processes.Maintain accurate production records, including machine logs, inspection reports, and maintenance schedules.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.Skills:The required skills enable the CNC Machinist Level III to accurately set up and operate complex machinery, ensuring parts are produced to exact specifications. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and programming CNC machines allows for efficient and precise manufacturing processes. Measurement and inspection skills are critical for maintaining quality control and minimizing defects. Preferred skills such as CAD/CAM software knowledge and troubleshooting enhance the machinist's ability to optimize workflows and quickly resolve technical issues. Together, these skills support a productive, safe, and high-quality manufacturing environment.5 days per week, 3pm-11:30pm with overtime available.
