Dive into their impactful work at https://friendlycenter.org and join us in making a meaningful impact!Some Chapman Alumni say, "This was the BEST job they ever had!"ResponsibilitiesStudent Enrichment Mentor• Provide student enrichment to elementary-aged students in our local community.• Assist students with developing skills in communication, social-emotional strategies, digital literacy, and reading literacy.• Assist in planning and directing STEAM skill building and activities.• Active mentors are expected to be effective listeners and communicators to the students to help them overcome obstacles, gain confidence, and reach their full potential.Marketing Assistant• Develop visual content for marketing materials, including flyers, posters, and social media graphics.• Ensure all design work aligns with our brand guidelines and maintains a consistent visual identity.• Generate, edit, publish and share daily social media content that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to act.• Schedule and publish posts, interact with followers, and monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and trends.• Research, track and analyze social media metrics to gauge the effectiveness of content and campaigns• Work with marketing team to manage brand and marketing initiatives.• Collaborate with other administrative staff on various initiatives supporting the Friendly Center.• Assist in other projects as needed.Friendly Mart Stocking Associate• Assist with receiving food donations and inventory deliveries.• Organize and categorize food items for easy identification and access.• Stock shelves efficiently, ensuring proper rotation of items (first in, first out).• Maintain cleanliness and order in the pantry area.• Follow all safety guidelines while handling food and supplies.• Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth pantry operations.• Mondays and occasional Fridays, from 9 AM to 12 PM.Childcare Assistant• Childcare Assistant provides support in the daily care and supervision of children in a childcare setting.• Supervise and interact with children to ensure their safety and well-being.• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including sanitizing toys and equipment.• Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations.• Mondays & Wednesdays from 5:00PM-8:00PM.Required QualificationsStudent Enrichment Mentor• Experience working/ communicating with children• Must be dependable and reliable• This job requires Federal Work StudyMarketing Assistant• Minimal experience required• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Google• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva.• Strong understanding of social media platforms and best practices.• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Must be dependable and reliable• This job requires Federal Work Study• Graphic design, communications, digital photography, or art backgrounds are a plus.Friendly Mart Stocking Associate• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.• Ability to lift and move boxes or bags of food (up to 25 lbs).• Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.• Reliable and punctual with a commitment to the scheduled shifts.• Positive attitude and willingness to help others.• Strong communication skills to interact with fellow volunteers and staff.Childcare Assistant• Experience working/ communicating with children• Must be dependable and reliable• This job requires Federal Work StudyDesired QualificationsStudent Enrichment Mentor• Bring your own skills and passions to share with students.• Conversational Spanish a plus.• General Education background a plus.Childcare Assistant• Bring your own skills and passions to share with students.• Conversational Spanish a plus.• General Education background a plus.Special Instructions to ApplicantsMust have FWS and will need to complete a Live Scan.1.
