Job Description
Virginia Peninsula Community College is a two-year institution of higher education established as a part of a statewide system of community colleges. It primarily serves the residents of the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, and the counties of James City and York.

The Financial Aid Department serves as the primary point of contact for student financial assistance programs. This position provides information and assistance to prospective and current students and their families in the completion of the application processes on campus as well as through community outreach and educational programs.
Special Assignments
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required:
Demonstrated work related or on the job experience.
Willingness to work at all campus locations, some weekends, and evenings.
Knowledge:
Experience working with financial aid forms and documents, to include reviewing tax returns, account status, and student billing.
Working knowledge of federal, state and college financial aid regulations and processes.
Skills:
Excellent oral and written communication.
Demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to a diverse population.
Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
Ability to:
Work in a high volume customer service and production environment.
Demonstrated ability to interpret policy and procedures
Clarify intricate federal regulations and procedures to customers in an understandably manner.
