Key job responsibilities include providing information and support to bargaining unit employees and managers regarding payroll, researching and resolving all related issues; submitting employee reports to the Union and Accounts Payable for processing of dues; monitoring status of new bargaining unit employees, notifying Corporate Payroll of dues deductions and end of probationary period; compiling Contractor Labor reports and submitting to managers for approval; processing monthly MSHA reports and providing to the mine sites and EHS Director; submitting employee safety reimbursements to Corporate Payroll; processing new customer applications and maintaining current customer account information; providing information and support to customers and managers regarding accounts receivable and past due accounts, researching and resolving all related issues; reporting weekly utilization of employees to managers; monitoring unbilled orders, sending reports to sales staff on a weekly basis; preparing and posting journal entries into SAP; processing non-direct sales invoices; filing A/R, payroll and deliveries documents; opening jobs in the SAP system in the Planner's absence; reviewing employee expense reports to determine expenses that require posting to jobs; tracking and reporting employee utilization hours on a bi-weekly and monthly basis; performing cost and margin analysis on various jobs; supporting the accountant in their role; closely monitoring issues in the payroll system, working with managers on resolution; submitting payroll corrections to Corporate Payroll; reconciling payroll registers with entries in payroll system each pay period; maintaining accounts receivable accounts; generating A/R reports on a weekly basis, researching and resolving all outstanding invoice issues; working with customers and providing necessary documentation or other required information to facilitate timely payment; processing and reporting employee utilization; and providing support to the accountant role. Qualifications/requirements include a two-year minimum accounting education; accounting degree preferred; three to five years of work experience in an accounting position, with a minimum of one-year experience in payroll; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; experience with SAP and Workforce Management is preferred but not required; exceptional customer service skills and maintaining good working relationships with vendors, customers, and all employees; strong organization skills, the ability to multi-task, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
