Intermodal Trucking Dispatcher

The ideal applicant should have experience working as a dispatcher at a container trucking operation in the Savannah market. The dispatcher is responsible for accepting and processing new orders, assisting with sorting and scanning paperwork, coordinating pickup and delivery schedules for both local and regional/over-the-road pick ups and deliveries, dispatching drivers on scheduled loads, and will also assist with safety compliance, maintenance, and customer service. Compensation includes competitive salary package based on experience (starting at $50k/year, or higher based on experience and qualifications) and excellent benefits. Essential Qualifications: Excellent organizational skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, able work independently and take initiative Able to effectively communicate with drivers, office personnel, customers, and vendors Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office Suite Understanding of trucking dispatch, DOT regulations and hours of service Knowledge of intermodal transportation logistics and procedures Self-motivated, reliable, and available to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, as well as availability to be on call during non-traditional work hours Works well with others; able to coordinate operations with staff at other company locations At least 2 years of experience in the intermodal trucking industry At least 1 year of experience dispatching in the Savannah port market College degree preferred Key Tasks and Duties: Handle order entry, updating dispatch system, sorting, scanning, copying, filing, billing, and maintaining organized records for all trips Manage scheduling and execution of local and regional/over-the-road dispatch Build relationships with new and existing customers Monitor ELD system and assist with enforcing safety regulations Communicate effectively with drivers, office staff, and customers The Perks: Competitive starting salary Health, dental, life insurance Paid vacation, sick, personal time, holidays 401(k) Friendly work environment at an established, successful company To apply, please submit a cover letter AND resume in reply to this ad.
