CRISIS ASSISTANT ADVOCATE
The Crisis Assistance Advocate will assist Crisis Assistance Program Manager with delivery of housing assistance programs as well as all Lane County Basic Needs and Self Sufficiency Programs, Low-income-home-energy-assistance seasonal program, FEMA funding programs, and Home-Tenant-Based-Assistance program. Crisis Assistance Advocate will maintain records and files as well as provide case management for clients in housing assistance programs. Crisis Assistance Advocate abides by program regulations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience or knowledge in working with budgets, reports, data bases, MS Office, Excel and computer operation.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Pass/employer will conduct background check, drug test, and DMV records check.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting, standing, working at computer, driving, occasional lifting to up to 30 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- AA/BA/BS degree or 2 years of experience in social service or related field preferred but not required.
HOURS
- Full-time, 40 hours a week, day shift. Flexible hours apply. Seasonal employment may apply as well.
PAY / COMPENSATION:
- Starting rate: $17-$19 DOE per hour.
- 2-week paid vacation, holiday pay. Health insurance, dental insurance, gym membership. Retirement-benefits eligible after one successful year of employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Become knowledgeable regarding each of the funded programs, rules and regulations, reporting requirements, eligibility requirements, budgets and budget reports.
- Maintain systems for monitoring clients and program expenditures.
- Maintain client file and data base systems.
- Conduct assessments of potential clients for the programs.
- Complete intakes for clients of the programs.
- Work with Crisis Assistance Program Manager to determine services to be provided for each client, develop written case management plans.
- Provide case management, follow up, and ongoing meetings with assigned housing clients.
- Make referrals, as appropriate, for services to clients
- Network with other local and non-local agencies which provide services useful to clients.
- Meet regularly with supervisor.
- Maintain accurate case records for all clients.
- Observe all confidentiality requirements.
- Attend trainings, as appropriate.
- Serve as domestic violence advocate on occasion, as appropriate.
- Work with diverse populations, including individuals with low or no income and those experiencing homelessness
- Perform related duties, as assigned by supervisor.
