Job DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum for a travel nursing job in Nampa, Idaho.Job Description & RequirementsSpecialty: LDRP - Labor Delivery Recovery & PostpartumDiscipline: RNStart Date: 06/15/2026Duration: 13 weeks36 hours per weekShift: 12 hours, nightsEmployment Type: TravelAssignment OverviewShift: Nights, 3x12hrsHours: 36 hrs/wkStart Date: Jun 15, 2026Length: 13 weeksOpenings: 3DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an LDRP position on a Women's Services unit, requiring at least 3 years of L&D experience and proficiency in C-section circulation, triage, and couplet care.DetailsWork setting is an acute care hospital Women's Services unit with a 14-bed LDRP model where patients remain in the same room throughout their stayUnit includes 2 OR suites for C-sections, 4 triage beds staffed by travelers, and a NICU embedded within 7 of the LDRP roomsApproximately 90 births per month and 1,200 births per yearPatient population includes 32+ week gestation, HTN patients on magnesium, TOLACs, BACs, gestational diabetes, antepartum patients, and a high volume of patients seeking medical intervention or pain management; placenta previa and placenta accreta are not managed on this unitStaffing follows AWHONN standards: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for cervical ripening patients, 1:3 for postpartum couplet care, and 1:3 for triage with a resource nurse engaged at 4 patientsEpic is the EMR used on this unitTitratable drips include Pitocin protocol, Magnesium protocol, and occasional Insulin dripsCentricity is used as the EFM system12-hour night shifts, 7p–7aWeekend scheduling is based on unit needs with no minimum requirementTravelers are first to float; floating may occur to other St. Luke's Treasure Valley sites (Meridian, Nampa, Boise) within primary skill set (L&D, Postpartum, or Antepartum) or as a sitterNo on-call requirementBlock scheduling is not available; candidates cannot work more than 6 shifts in a rowRequirementsActive Idaho RN license or compact RN license required, must be active at time of consideration — pending licenses are not acceptedRequired certifications (all must be active, no pending accepted): BLS, ACLS, NRP, and STABLEMinimum 3 years of L&D experience requiredMother-baby (couplet care) experience required; minimum 1 year preferredMust be able to attend deliveries, complete the first hour of newborn care, perform triage, circulate C-sections, and provide postpartum couplet careExperience with magnesium administration and titration requiredEpic EMR experienceCharge nurse experience preferredDriver's license required2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both must include dates of employment and eligibility for rehireCandidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionAdditional InformationRNs are responsible for circulating and recovering C-section patients in the OR suites on the unitResource nurse role includes attending all deliveries as a 'baby catcher,' stabilizing newborns, completing physical assessments and cares within the first 2 hours of birth, and serving as a second sign-off on medicationsUnit is supported by an OB hospitalist and a Neonatal NP both available 24/7, as well as anesthesia in house 24/7Staffing support includes one CST per shift and a CNA who may transition to HUC coverage depending on staffing needsOrientation consists of 4 unit-specific shifts covering C-section, labor, and postpartum; compliance and Epic Curio assignments must be completed prior to startScheduling for first-contract travelers is assigned to fill unit needs; subsequent contracts allow scheduling preferences which the unit will try to accommodateHoliday coverage may be required based on unit needs during the contract periodHospital-issued scrubs are required; must be changed into and out of at the beginning and end of each shift — scrub colors may vary at float sitesNo fingernail lacquer, acrylic, or gel nails are permitted on this unitTravel pairs (duos) must have separate vehicles, as they may be assigned to different sites or float independently during a shiftFormer permanent employees must have been away from the facility for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignmentFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAmerican Traveler Job ID #P-710249.
