UK, Malta, Spain and Portugal), ensuring employees and contractors are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time every month.This role sits at the heart of our Finance chapter, partnering closely with People, external payroll providers, and stakeholders across the business to drive operational excellence across payroll processes, controls, reporting, and compliance. Beyond day-to-day payroll execution, you’ll play a key role in improving workflows, strengthening controls, and helping scale our payroll operations as the business continues to grow internationally.We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical payroll expertise with a proactive, solution-focused mindset, someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, improving processes, and building strong relationships across teams.What You’ll Be DoingAs our Senior Payroll & Finance Operations Specialist, you’ll lead the execution and coordination of payroll operations across the group, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a seamless employee experience.You’ll act as the primary point of contact for our external payroll partners, oversee payroll-related controls and reconciliations, and support continuous improvements across payroll systems and processes. You’ll also collaborate closely with the wider Finance chapter on month-end activities, reporting, and operational initiatives.Your key responsibilitiesOwn the accurate and timely processing of global payroll and contractor payments across all jurisdictions in which the group operates.Act as the main point of contact for payroll providers, ensuring strong service delivery and operational efficiencyReview payroll calculations, adjustments, and reports to ensure accuracy across multiple jurisdictions and currenciesEnsure payroll operations remain compliant with employment legislation, tax regulations, pension requirements, and data privacy obligationsPartner with the People team to accurately process employee and contractor lifecycle changes, including onboarding, offboarding, compensation updates, and benefits-related adjustments.Manage contractor payment processes and ensure compliance with relevant engagement and payment requirements across jurisdictionsMaintain strong payroll controls and ensure payroll data integrity across systems and processesInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely manner, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedulePrepare and review payroll journals, accruals, reconciliations, and supporting month-end documentationSupport year-end payroll activities, audits, statutory reporting, and tax authority submissions across relevant jurisdictionsManage payroll-related payments and funding requirements, ensuring timely settlement of taxes, pensions, and other third-party obligationsCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and finance partners, on payroll-related mattersIdentify opportunities to improve, automate, and optimise payroll processes, controls, and reporting workflowsSupport the wider Finance chapter with operational and month-end accounting activities where requiredWe're looking for...Proven experience in a senior payroll position with exposure to global payroll operations across multiple jurisdictionsStrong understanding of payroll compliance, employment taxes, pensions, and statutory obligationsProfessional accounting qualification (part-qualified or qualified), or equivalent relevant experienceExperience preparing payroll accounting entries, accruals, and reconciliationsSolid understanding of month-end close processes and balance sheet reconciliationsExperience working with payroll platforms and HRIS systems, ideally DeelStrong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and present payroll-related data effectivelyExcellent attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential informationStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlinesEffective stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and external providersExperience working within multi-entity and multi-currency environmentsA proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement, process optimisation, and operational efficiencyExperience supporting audits and statutory reporting requirementsFamiliarity with employee benefits administration and expense management processesIt would be a bonus if you have…Experience working remotely within distributed global teamsExperience in the iGaming, digital, or technology sectorsExperience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business CentralExperience using Deel for global payroll administrationExperience using Revolut for business banking and payment operationsFamiliarity with Notion workspace managementExperience managing both employee payroll and contractor payment processesExposure to FP&A activities and people-related forecastingDiversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging statementAt Blexr we are committed to building a team that is diverse and representative of the world we live in.We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to individuals of every race, religion, belief, and ethnic background, regardless of age, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity.Our goal is to create an environment where you can do your best work and be your best self.
