Job DescriptionDescription:As one of the nation’s fastest growing kombucha companies, Humm Kombucha is on a quest to put the goodness of Humm in the hands of as many people as possible.We are hiring a Maintenance Technician who will work with a talented team that is responsible for managing and maintaining the packaging, fermentation, and other equipment to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in a safe, efficient, and accurate manner with minimal production downtime. Additionally, this team plays an important role in performing day to day tasks for preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, spare equipment inventory management, all new projects and equipment improvements in an efficient and cost-effective manner.We are actively seeking Maintenance Technician for the following opening(s):Weekend Day Shift working 3/12s or 4/10s (must include working on Saturdays & Sundays) ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Perform daily packaging maintenance activities including minimizing setup/teardown/changeover downtimeWork with the packaging, fermentation and plant supervision on continuous improvement projects for the packaging, fermentation and operations departmentsPerform packaging preventative maintenance program tasks including spare parts managementPromotes food safety and quality awareness throughout the organizationAssist with inventory management of all new/replacement packaging equipment and partsExecute installation of packaging and fermentation equipment. Perform in depth maintenance inspections of packaging equipment on a periodic basis. Follow and enforce all Humm and customer operating procedures. Follow Humm policies, safety rules, Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety Management System including logout/tagout SOP and confined space SOP’s. Maintain constructive working relationships with all staff. Base wage for this position starts at $22/hour. FREE Humm beverages and gear!Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS:A minimum 3 years’ experience in general maintenance required, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A journeyman industrial mechanic/millwright card or a minimum two (2) year technical degree preferred. Extensive knowledge of packaging equipment, processes, and procedures: Bottle and canning de-palletizers, powered conveyance, bottling and canning labelers (rotary and in line), bottling and canning rotary fillers (CFT/Krones/KHS), wrap around packaging cases, canning cartons, robotic palletizer etc. Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills in a manufacturing setting required: pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical processesAbility to provide instruction to other personnel regarding maintenance protocols. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Basic skills with hand tools and other shop tools. Operate and drive company forklifts and vehicles. Function in a loud and busy production environment. ____________________________________________________________________________________WORKING CONDITIONS:May need to work at heights. Occasional heavy lifting over 50lbs. Loud and humid manufacturing work environment (PPE is provided/required). Busy and active production floor. Indoor, outdoor and refrigerated environments in all weather conditions. Working with forklifts, pallet jacks, high powered pumps, chemicals, extreme temperature liquids, heavy equipment. Work on your feet for 8-12 hours daily. May be required to work all shifts including days, second/swing, split and graveyard. May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, on call for business needs. This position is part of our maintenance on call/rotation schedule.
