Tax Accountant CPA

Job Description We are looking for a Tax Accountant CPA to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company. Ideal candidate will be located in Richmond, VA. We would consider transitioning to a hybrid remote working environment after tax season is completed. Responsibilities: Prepare and review business and personal tax returnsManage tax return process & client dataTrain and become a tax planning advisor helping clients through various strategiesPrepare and present tax planning kickoff calls, implementation calls and quarterly calls helping clients with their tax questions throughout the yearReview work of staff accountants / bookkeepersDelegate work from clients to staff accountants / bookkeepersRecord tax entries within client's accounting system and spot potential tax errorsKeep up to date with latest tax legislation changes and IRS pronouncements as they become availableResearch strategies that may apply to clients and keep up to date with the evolving tax industryEventually, prepare and present tax planning kickoff calls, implementation calls and quarterly calls working with clients on their tax questions throughout the year​Qualifications: 5-10 years minimum experience in accounting and taxFundamental knowledge of GAAP & tax basisUnderstanding of SARS rules for issuing financial statements to clientsAbility to prepare and release financial statements to clientsExperience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools such as Thomson Reuters Suite, Quickbooks, Xero, and Dillner'sDetail and deadline-orientedStrong analytical and problem solving skillsAssist with various entity extension deadlinesExperience preparing 1040, 1041, 1120, 1120S, 1065, and 990 tax returns Company DescriptionOur office prides itself in being a positive and fulfilling work environment.
