Literacy Coach

DescriptionLourdes Academy Elementary School has an opening for a literacy coach beginning in August, 2026. The school is committed to providing a traditional education in a faith filled environment. Our goal is to make sure our students feel safe, valued and loved while educating them in mind, body and spirit.This position requires abilities in monitoring student progress and the effects of individualized interventions through the use of objective measures of data, the ability to conduct functional reading assessments, the development of reading plans/implementation of reading interventions.Responsibilities:Knowledge and expertise in serving students with a variety of reading disabilities and/or literacy needsDiagnostically evaluates and monitors all students reading performanceAbility to use evidence-based individual and group literacy strategies/techniquesThe ability to use differentiated instruction across academic subject areasKnowledge of literacy curriculum standards & essential elementsAbility to integrate technology within the literacy curriculum/instructionUnderstanding of content area reading strategiesAbility to assist in student organizational skills and development of self-advocacyAbility to implement and analyze various reading assessments (ex. running records, DRA, Fountas & Pinnell, Mondo)Qualifications:Hold a minimum of bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, master's degree preferredPreference may be given to candidates who possess Wisconsin DPI licensure in reading/literacyPreferred candidate will have successful experience working with students at varied reading levels and a proven track record of increasing student learingCommunicates effectively in both oral and written format and can work collaboratively as an intervention team memberAbility to establish cooperative and good working relationshipsWillingness to work toward Green Bay Diocesan foundational catechetical certificationHave a passion and commitment for a faith-filled educaitonBe able to support, affirm and uphold, by word and example, the teaching of the Catholic ChurchUpon emplyment, be able to pass criminal background checkWhy Join our TeamAs a Catholic school system, there are many opportunities to build relationships with colleagues, students, parents and families, and local clergy, which creates a loving and supportive family atmosphere.Positions at Lourdes are not just a job.
