Qualifications Education:High School Graduate/GEDExperience: 1-3 years preferredAbility to work closely with facility and medical staff, good communication skills, and excellent organizational skills, and a minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.Thorough knowledge of transcription devices, techniques and procedureComplete knowledge of medical terminology.Advanced knowledge of computer and various software packages.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Organize and prioritize transcription requests in a manner which facilitates meeting established deadlines and completion of transcription workloads in a timely fashion.Maintain a transcription log consisting of patient's name, medical record number, attending licensed practitioner, person dictating, and type of report, date of dictation and date of transcription.Reproduce all transcribed reports as requested and in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.Distribute all in-house patient reports to appropriate unitsDistribute all reports on discharged patients to the Health Information Technician for filing.Assemble and review all discharge medical recordsAdhere to facility, department, corporate, personnel and standard policies and procedures.Ability to see well enough to read handwritten and typewritten materialAbility to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. to move/transfer file boxes, data processing paperBenefits:Career development opportunities across UHS and its 300+ locations!HealthStream online learning catalogue with plenty of free CEU coursesCompetitive Compensation & Generous Paid Time OffExcellent Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Plans401(K) with company match and discounted stock planEEO StatementAll UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
