Employment Type:Full timeShift:12 Hour Night ShiftDescription:Full Time Nights Position Purpose: The Behavioral Health Nurse provides assessments, support and care coordination across the behavioral health care continuum for patients struggling with mental illness as well as individuals and families seeking resources or information about treatment options. The Behavioral Health Nurse is an integral member of Behavioral Health Service Line and works collaboratively with the treatment team members and providers in the various inpatient and outpatient programs offered at Mercy.The Behavioral Health Nurse works closely with community partners to ensure successful transition of care and promotes education to the public on Behavioral Health-related topics through various forums.What you will Do:Assesses and evaluates individuals' physical, psychosocial, environmental, spiritual, social and education needs.Works collaboratively with the Behavioral Health inpatient and outpatient teams to achieve desired patient care outcomes and ensure a smooth transition of careProvides, facilitates, and/or implements learning opportunities to meet the educational needs of patients, families or members of the community.When required, documents patient information in the electronic/paper medical record in an accurate, timely mannerProvides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.Effectively communicates pertinent patient changes/conditions to colleagues and to multidisciplinary caregivers.Hours/Schedule: Full Time 36hrs a weekNight 12hr shift 7pm - 7:30amEvery third weekend, every other holidayMinimum Qualifications: Current RN Licensure in the state of Iowa, or qualified multistate licensure required.Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferredAbility to be non-judgmental regarding living and health related decisions. Position Highlights and Benefits:Education Assistance offeredEffective Day 1 Benefit Package (Medical, Dental, Vision, and more) for positions 16 hours per week or greaterCompetitive wages; including weekend and night differentialsGenerous paid time off programRetirement Savings program with employer match starting on Day 1Ministry/Facility Information:MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center provides expert health care to 15 counties.MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center is a 342 bed, regional referral teaching hospital in Mason City, Iowa.
