Housekeeping Supervisor | Arrive Hotel Wilmington The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for all guest rooms and the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department. This person will oversee daily assignments, room inspections, and employee relations. The ideal candidate must possess excellent leadership skills. Tasks at hand include supervising the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department and assisting as needed during high occupancy, maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the hotel, including guest rooms, common areas and offices, maintaining and updating all guest collateral placed in the rooms, responding to requests in an expedient, professional manner, interacting with guests to ensure satisfaction and handling guest concerns as necessary, examining rooms, halls, lobby, bathrooms, and/or housekeeping storage areas to determine need for repairs, replacement of furniture or equipment, and making recommendations to management, training, counseling and disciplining team members, as needed, seeking continual improvement for the department and hotel, complying with all policies, procedures and regulations that relate to the local, state and federal laws, advising front desk agent of rooms readiness for occupancy, using correct cleaning chemicals for designated surfaces, according to hotel requirements, cleaning guest rooms by category priority, emptying trash containers, removing all dirty terrycloth and replacing with clean par to designated layout, removing soil, dirt, soap build-up and hair from bathroom mirrors, vanity, sink, toilet, shower walls, bathtub, shower curtain and floor, replacing facial, toilet tissue and bathroom amenities in correct amount and location, inspecting condition of bathrobes and replacing if soiled/damaged, removing dirty bed linen and making up bed with clean linen, replacing laundry bags and slips, cleaning closets and door tracks on check-out rooms, removing dust and debris, ensuring correct amount and placement of hangers, extra blanket/pillow, dusting and polishing all furniture, realigning furniture to floor plan, opening all drawers/doors in check-out rooms and removing items left by guest. Dusting inside, checking under bed(s), chairs and sofa for debris and removing if present, inspecting condition of all furniture for tears, rips or stains; reporting any damages to the supervisor, removing all dust, debris and foreign particles from upholstered furniture including crevices and under cushions, dusting pictures, frames and mirrors, removing dust and debris on television, clock radio, remote control and cable box, setting correct time on clock; correct TV channel, cleaning all lamps and light switches; checking for proper working order, removing dust, spots and smears from windows, ledges and frames, removing dust, grease and smears from telephones and repositioning properly, emptying liquid from ice bucket and wiping all surfaces dry, removing dust, smudges and spills from mini bar; ensuring it is plugged in and securely locked, being completely flexible with scheduling and being open to varied schedules every week based on hotel occupancies, following uniform guideline, performing any other reasonable duties as required by management, leading by example at all times and staying visible to staff, being part of a leadership team of brand advocates who believe in what ARRIVE Wilmington has to offer and who are personally invested in its success, fostering an environment where team members know they are valued, ensuring they are treated fairly and with respect, assisting in building a culture of open communication, spending time with team members and being available for them (open door policy), continuously striving to improve and maintain client and guest experiences, being a leader in managing the overall reputation management of the hotel, continuing to give the brand a voice – naturally showcasing what the brand has to offer and its virtues to others (employees, leaders, owners).
