Job SummaryWe are looking for a Tool & Die Maker in Concord, NC. As a Tool and Die Maker you would be using various machine tools and auxiliary equipment working form blueprints, sketches and verbal directions build, repair and revise molds and dies, build jugs and fixtures and any spare parts for mold and dies.

Main Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesMachines, tools and equipment used: Vertical and horizontal mills, lathes, surface grinders, drills saws and assorted measuring tools.
Materials used: Aluminum, mild steel, A2, A6, D2, S7, 01, CPM10V, CPMm4, brass, copper, Stainless steels, plastics, phenolics and others.
While there is no formal procedure in any job assignment in the Tool Room, the tool maker must be able to plan his work and all the various stages to obtain completion of a job in a cost-effective manner. Example: cut raw stock, mill, drill, grind, heat treat, finish grind, EDM.
Work directly with engineers and other technical personnel to make changes in tooling and build jigs, fixtures and gages. Make vendor contacts.
Total responsibility to eliminate non-conformance within quality of products
All other work as directed by supervisor.
EducationRequired to be able to read, write and perform basic math. Prefer high school degree or GED.
ExperienceMust have completed a certified Tool & Die apprenticeship
Skills/Knowledge/AbilitiesBasic reading and writing skills in English
Math skills
Able to communicate effectively
Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
Able to work overtime when necessary
Able to stand the majority of the work day.
Able to perform repetitive job functions; hand mobility, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
Manual dexterity required for assembly and operating tools and machines.
Ability to safely operate moving equipment properly without risk to self, others and equipment.
