Aircraft Parts Cleaner
Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated individual to join our growing organization as an Aircraft parts Cleaner. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring all aircraft parts are properly cleaned and sanitized for technicians in the shop. Candidates must be hands-on, proactive, detail oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, washing, sanitizing, rinsing, and drying aircraft parts in preparation for reassembly.
Essential Responsibilities
Identify the most effective cleaning method and cleaning solutions for a particular part
Inspect cleaned parts to verify compliance with cleanliness standards
Maintain ultrasonic tanks and cleaning room
Ensure proper rinsing and drying of parts
Maintain sanitary conditions
Understand how to use solvents, emulsion cleaners, soaps, and synthetic detergents
Visually inspect parts and paperwork to ensure prior steps are complete.
Move parts to the proper location after cleaning.
Clean components by hand as needed
Use care in handling parts pre and post cleaning
Determine if parts are ready for assembly or if further processing is required
Adhere to safety protocols while handling hazardous materials
Follow guidelines for proper disposal of cleaning agents
Other janitorial duties may be required
Experience and Skills
The ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings as well as a basic background check
Must be fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English
The ability to follow instructions
Good vision for working on small parts up close
Must be able to report to work on a regular and timely basis
Detail oriented
Physical Requirements
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
The ability to walk up stairs
Manual dexterity (Handling cleaning tools, equipment, and parts with precision is necessary)
Constant hand manipulation of small to medium components
Sitting or standing for long periods of time
Frequent use of hand tools and other repair equipment
Use of chemicals for cleaning, lubricating and painting
Education
High school diploma or GED
Trade school or related industry experience is not required (but it is a plus)
Previous aviation experience is not required (but it is a plus)
Compensation
Hourly position commensurate with experience level and skill level and/or certifications. ($18-$20 per hour)
