Senior Payroll Specialist

Job Overview:Search Solution Group is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client, a global trading firm specializing in quantitative trading, market making, and venture capital. This role is a critical part of a high-performing payroll team responsible for supporting employees across several states and multiple international entities. The Senior Payroll Specialist will serve as a subject matter expert, helping to navigate complex, high-volume payroll operations while supporting global mobility, compliance, and system enhancements in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities:Manage full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing for a large and complex employee populationServe as a subject matter expert for payroll operations, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsPartner closely with HR, Benefits, Finance, and Global Mobility teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and reportingSupport international payroll considerations, including intercompany and intercountry activity across global entitiesTroubleshoot and resolve complex payroll discrepancies in collaboration with third-party tax vendors and external partnersAssist with state tax registrations and compliance as the organization expands into new jurisdictionsSupport payroll system enhancements, testing, and future ERP implementation initiativesWork with outside counsel on complex payroll and compliance matters as neededMaintain accurate payroll records and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirementsContribute to continuous process improvements and broader team initiativesRequirements include:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferredExperience:5+ years of payroll experience, with strong expertise in multi-state payroll processingExperience in high-volume, fast-paced environments requiredExposure to global payroll, international assignments, or global mobility strongly preferredSkills:Advanced analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage complex dataAbility to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in payroll systems (experience with UKG Pro or similar systems preferred)Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsCertifications:Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferredKnowledge:Deep understanding of multi-state payroll laws and tax regulations, including complex states such as California, New York, Ohio, and PennsylvaniaFamiliarity with global payroll practices, compliance, and international mobility considerationsKnowledge of payroll system configurations and process improvementsKey Competencies:Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and complexityHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detailCollaborative team player with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently while contributing to a high-performing team environmentAdaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, high-volume settingCuriosity and drive to continuously improve processes and systemsHow to Apply:To apply for this position, please click the "Apply" button at the top right of your screen.
