Junior Payroll Specialist
Job Overview:Search Solution Group is seeking a Junior Payroll Specialist on behalf of our client, a global trading firm specializing in quantitative trading, market making, and venture capital. This role is a key contributor to a high-performing payroll team responsible for supporting employees across multiple states and international entities. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, supporting full-cycle payroll operations while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuous process improvement.Key Responsibilities:Process full-cycle, multi-state payroll for a large employee populationPartner with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing and alignment with employee dataAssist with payroll-related impacts of benefits, compensation changes, and employee lifecycle eventsTroubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely mannerCollaborate with third-party tax vendors and external partners on payroll-related mattersSupport state tax registrations and compliance as the organization expands into new jurisdictionsContribute to payroll system updates, testing, and future ERP implementation initiativesMaintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulationsAssist with global payroll considerations, including international mobility and intercompany transactionsParticipate in continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalabilityRequirements include:Education:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferredExperience:2-7 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a high-volume, multi-state environmentExperience supporting large employee populations strongly preferredSkills:Strong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesHigh attention to detail and accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in payroll systems (experience with UKG Pro or similar systems preferred)Advanced Microsoft Excel skillsCertifications:Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus but not requiredKnowledge:Strong understanding of multi-state payroll laws and tax regulationsFamiliarity with complex payroll environments including states such as California, New York, Ohio, and PennsylvaniaExposure to global payroll, international assignments, or global mobility is a plusKey Competencies:Strong work ethic with a proactive and solution-oriented mindsetAbility to work both independently and collaboratively within a teamExcellent communication skills and ability to partner cross-functionallyAdaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environmentHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and accountabilityCuriosity and willingness to learn and grow within a complex payroll functionHow to Apply:To apply for this position, please click the "Apply" button at the top right of your screen.
