Job TitleInstructor - Workforce TrainingPay Rate Min to Mid Range$79,788.00 - $97,734.00Time TypeFull timeSummaryUnder direction from Manager-Workforce Development, position is responsible for instructional training in work readiness programs and initiatives that sustains local employers in target industries with the highly skilled workers they need to expand and grow in Bexar County.Duties and Responsibilities:Obtain training through a train the trainer program with County selected vendorAssists the administrator with the development and deployment of instructional classroom and laboratory sessions to provide technical classroom and lab experience to all students in the programAssists the administrator with conducting assessments for referred and vetted individuals on technical assessments, as neededConducts daily classroom, lab, and equipment inspections to ensure all hardware and equipment remain in good working orderPractice and maintain all safety requirements in the class in order to ensure student safety and to adhere to all OSHA safety standards, practices, and proceduresFacilitate the application of safety rules, regulations, and work practicesImplement lean manufacturing discipline in maintenance, machine reliability, and problem solvingApply principles and procedures of record keepingEnsure all required training is completed with proper training record usageProvide recommendations for continuous improvement in training to management in a timely mannerAnalyze and measure success of students throughout training programPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or closely related field, and five (5) years' experience in Advanced Manufacturing and one (1) year supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAbundant understanding, knowledge of principles and practices required to operate, maintain and troubleshoot an advanced manufacturing facility.Highly skilled in advanced manufacturing disciplines: electrical-mechanical, fluid power, programmable logic controls, robotics;Skilled in lean manufacturing discipline in maintenance, machine reliability, and problem solvingExcellent skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing; must be familiar with computers and applicable software; must possess strong technical mathematical capabilityMust have strong interpersonal, mentoring, training and presentation skills;Must demonstrate ability to write, train and audit standardized work; ability to train and mentor individuals using standardized methods and multimedia curriculum; and demonstrate safety awareness of self and othersMust bring real work examples into learning environmentMust practice and teach workplace organizationMust secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearanceMust clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen testMay not work more than 29 hours during the workweekMay be required to work weekends and eveningsWorking Environment and Physical Demands:Constantly working in indoor conditionsOccasionally moves items weighing between 40-50 poundsOccasionally moves about the officeFrequently communicates with others; must be able to exchange accurate informationConstantly operates a computer; and, other table-top productivity machineryPositions self to perform essential functionsMust be able to remain in a stationary positionWorking With Bexar CountyBexar County offers employees a competitive salary, retirement, and benefits.
