Construction Estimator

Job DescriptionPosition OverviewThe Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates by reviewing blueprints, specifications, and project requirements. This role works closely with project managers, sales, and field teams to ensure proposals are competitive, profitable, and achievable.Key ResponsibilitiesReview plans, drawings, and specifications for low-voltage projects.Perform material take-offs and labor calculations for structured cabling, fire alarm, access control, AV, and related systems.Request and compare vendor quotes for materials and subcontracted work.Prepare clear and detailed proposals for clients and internal use.Coordinate with project managers to clarify scope, timelines, and resource needs.Track project costs and adjust estimates when changes arise.Maintain an organized database of costs, suppliers, and pricing history.QualificationsExperience estimating in construction, electrical, or low-voltage industries.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.Strong math and analytical skills.Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (or willing to learn).Detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.Strong communication skills for working with vendors, clients, and internal teams.Preferred But Not RequiredKnowledge of NEC, NFPA, and industry standards.Experience with brands such as Crestron, Extron, Biamp, QSC, Atlona, Shure.Prior field experience in low-voltage installation.Company DescriptionWe are a fast-growing low-voltage integration company specializing in structured cabling, fire alarm, access control, AV, and security systems.
