Interior Architect Mission Critical

POSITION SUMMARY:As an Interior Architect at HED, you support the successful integration of architecture and interior design with growing autonomy and design leadership. In this role, you will bring a rigorous technical understanding of building systems together with creative problem-solving to shape holistic, high-performing environments. You contribute across project phases and collaborate with architectural and engineering teams to ensure design integrity from concept through execution. You are a resourceful and inquisitive designer committed to HED's values of integration, innovation, and design excellence. In this role, your projects initially will be primarily within our Mission Critical Sector.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Lead interior architectural components of projects through schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administrationIntegrate architectural elements, detailing, and space planning with building systems and codesTranslate design concepts into fully coordinated interior architectural solutionsCollaborate with cross-discipline teams including architects, engineers, interior designers, and consultantsPrepare high-quality technical documentation using Revit, including construction details, finish plans, and millwork drawingsConduct product research and participate in material selection with attention to sustainability, durability, and aestheticsAttend and contribute to client and team meetings, including design reviews and coordination sessionsSupport junior team members and contribute to a culture of mentorship and knowledge sharingParticipate in QA/QC and peer review processes to support consistent design qualityMaintain awareness of trends in workplace, learning, healthcare, and living environments as relevant to interior architectureREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture 4–7 years of professional experience in interior architectureArchitectural Licensure in CaliforniaStrong proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft OfficeWorking knowledge of Enscape, Rhino, and Bluebeam RevuFamiliarity with applicable building codes, ADA, and interior detailing standardsAbility to interpret design concepts into technical solutionsEffective collaboration and communication skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust be able to effectively communicate in writing and verbally via phone, video conferencing, and in personMust be able to perform site visitsVisual acuity to perform responsibilitiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:We embrace a hybrid model that promotes both autonomy and collaboration, including the freedom to work from home, with regular in-office days to connect with teammates and build culture.
