General Job Description:In collaboration with other Area Superintendents and under the supervision of the Department Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of our General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons and Forepersons within the Fire Protection trade of the assigned area.Supervises:General Forepersons, Truck Forepersons, ForepersonsEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all Fire Protection field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an effort to achieve company goalsOperationsAssist direct reports with:Resource managementProper team selection including assignment of ForepersonsProject execution strategies and schedulingWeekly project progress, health and safety reportsHelp to provide resolution of issues, challenges and obstaclesExecution of QA/QC protocolsImplementation of Safety Department's protocolsImplementation of Acco policies and proceduresPlanning for successful project installationJob Walks (with/for PM's)Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviewsReview bid estimates (when requested)Participation in project kick-off, mid-job and wrap-up meetingsReview project documents to determine the proper staffing requirementsAssignment of field supervision and labor to projectsMovement/transfer of employees between General Forepersons, Forepersons and Truck ForepersonsContinuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest LevelMonitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standardsEvaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase efficiency and meet project goalsReview and track project labor budgetsFill any project need gaps until job is assigned a field supervisorEngage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputesKnowledge of current building and NFPA codeEncourage communication between the assigned project supervision and the associated PM/PE. Coordinate and assist with problem solving strategies with the PM and assigned supervision when issues rise beyond the scope or understanding/capability of the project supervision assigned.Mentor General Forepersons and Forepersons to be elite leadersAssist Director in departmental budgets, financial planning and fleet management as neededOther tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or upper managementStrategic PlanningUnderstand and support the strategic plan and corporate visionEnsure adoption and implementation of standard processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and efficiency across field operationsIdentify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations (ie:installations, materials, equipment, personnel)Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively to all field personnel in an effort to mitigate risk and reduce liabilityPersonnel ManagementAdhere to and promote company policiesInstill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the departmentMentor, train and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid any gaps in strong leadershipCoordinate labor requests with the local union labor hallsResponsible for all hiring and termination of signatory Fire Protection staff within the assigned areaCollaborationCreate and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locationsParticipate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectivesWork closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers on bid strategies and current projects regarding:ConstructabilityResource availabilityLabor budgetsProject execution opportunitiesPotential project challengesCollaborate with Regional Superintendents and share experience to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resourcesPosition Requirements (Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):Strong industry knowledgeExcellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethicEffective communicator at all levels of the businessExperience and deep understanding of the Fire Protection trade and general fabrication practices12+ years of experience in Construction leading projectsMember of the local union in good standingExperience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizesMS Office: Word, Excel, Project Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Forms, Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, BoxProficient in EnglishValid driver's license and a clean driving recordSkilled in reading and interpreting plans and specificationsKnowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sitesAdditional Skills/Abilities Preferred, but Not Required:Member/affiliate of local apprenticeship training programsDegree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architectureExperience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizationsSoftware experience:CRM/PM Platforms: BidtracerCollaboration: Smartsheet, Box, Slack, Revit, PlanGridDesign/Detailing: Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks),Spooling: MSuite BimproFabrication: MSuite FabProTrimbleProficient in SpanishACCO Competencies:Proactivity / Initiative:Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one's level/position and with minimal supervision.Perseverance:Shows the wherewithal to fight for difficult goals despite challenges and to bounce back from adversity.Insight:The ability to gather and make sense of information that suggests new possibilities.Engagement:Shows a knack for using emotion and logic to communicate a persuasive vision and connect with people.Teamwork:The ability to effectively work toward common goals with others by supporting, encouraging, and sharing information in an authentic and approachable manner.Big Picture:Understands and contributes to organizations' short- and long-term business strategy. Work hours begin and end between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm with one-hour break for lunch and two rest breaks. Eight hours per day is required and other occasional overtime may be necessary per business needsWages:This position is for signatory employees and wages will be in alignment with the current Collective Bargaining Agreements.#ACCO#LI-MM1
