Greece Central School District welcomes stakeholders who can collaborate with other staff to ensure that our policies, regulations, practices, programs and services promote equity, inclusion, and diversity.Salary: Per GTA ContractBargaining Unit (click here for contracts): GTAReport Times: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.Daily Hours: 7Work Year: 2026-2027Supervisor: Kate CareyMinimum Requirements: NYS CertificationDesired QualificationsProven track record working with students with challenging behaviors and shaping behaviors across Tiers 1, 2, and 3.At least 3 years of demonstrated experience leading building or district initiativesAt least 5 years of experience as a School CounselorAbility to work independently on complex tasks from start to finish.Comfort facilitating conversations and collaborating effectively with administrators and colleagues to move work forward.Exceptional written and verbal communication, ensuring professional, timely, and clear engagement with all members of the school community.TCIS Trainer certification (or willingness to be trained)TIG training (or willingness to be trained).Familiarity with counseling platforms, including Maia Learning, Infinite Campus, Panorama, Innerexplorer, MBF, ReThink Ed, as well as Google Suite, Frontline, Innive, and CanvaDemonstrated expertise and skill in School Counselor processes and proceduresStrong understanding of School Counseling Standards and College and Career ReadinessPosition Summary/ResponsibilitiesImplementation of the K-12 Greece Central School District Counseling PlanCentral leader for the counseling department, supporting consistency across 18 buildings and 45+ CounselorsFacilitate FAFSA and Monique Burr Foundation lesson parent information sessionsSupport graduation Seal events (Biliteracy, Civic Readiness, etc) and District Financial Aid nightProvide mentorship to School Counselors DistrictwidePlan and lead district-wide counselor department meetings and the Counseling Advisory Council.Ensure school counseling comprehensive plans meet New York State Department of Education requirements.Lead and plan districtwide committees such as the Counseling Curriculum Committee meetings and Mental Health Department Meetings in order to accomplish the annual goals aligned to district and NYS requirements.Provide training, support, and oversight of job-embedded curriculum and platforms (including counseling curriculum and Erin's Law)Coordinate Middle School student visits and the Most Inspiring Student Award CommitteeServe as the Counselor Representative on numerous district and county committeesPlan and present at New Teacher Induction and Teachers First for mental health staffServe as a District Mental Health Coach (DMHC), provide district TIG support, and serve on the district reunification teamDevelop proactive educational tools and lead district-wide professional learning on harm prevention, suicide screening, bullying prevention, and Tier 2/3 behavioral interventions.Provide high-level consultation to administrators and staff on district and building initiatives and MTSS systems pertaining to behavior, attendance, and social emotional learningProvide technical support and follow-up for suicide screenings and other safety-related concerns, including Safety Planning.Support the implementation of the Code of Conduct by increasing building-level capacity for tiered behavior, attendance, and SEL systems, utilizing Function-Based Thinking and accountability strategies.Analyze district and school-wide behavior data to establish goals, coach staff on early identification of at-risk students, and implement progress-monitoring frameworks to evaluate intervention efficacy.Train and coach staff on TCIS crisis prevention and intervention strategies.Support building Mental Health Teams with resource mapping and goal setting.Willingness to work evening and summer hours, as neededThis position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises.
