Job Details Location: Harrisburg, Pennsylvania (17109) – Harrisburg, PA travel nursing and Pennsylvania nursing jobs Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse (Med/Surg RN) Division: Nursing – Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Shift: 12 Hour Nights (Night Shift RN) Hours per Week: 36 Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: April 6, 2026 Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,750–$1,840/week Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania (PA RN license) required BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift (AHA preferred) ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Certification required prior to first shift Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg bedside clinical experience required; 2 years Med-Surg RN experience highly desired Responsibilities Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission and develop individualized Med/Surg care plans Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record (EMR) Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission to support safe transitions of care Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees; provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary staff Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety Participate in team conferences and collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and quality standards Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested and support efficient unit operations Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competency Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment through teamwork, professionalism, and strong communication Ready to take the next step in your travel nursing career?
