DLR Group's Audiovisual Systems Design Team is growing, and we're seeking an Entry-Level Audiovisual Designer to join us in one of the following studios:ClevelandSeattlePosition SummaryAs an Entry-Level Audiovisual Designer at DLR Group, you will support the design and delivery of innovative audiovisual systems that enhance the built environment. You'll work closely with senior audiovisual designers and integrated design teams to develop coordinated, high-quality solutions across all project phases. In this role, you'll apply your technical curiosity, creativity, and attention to detail to help translate client goals into effective and sustainable audiovisual designs.What You Will DoCollaborate with senior audiovisual designers and integrated design teams to develop audiovisual system solutionsApply DLR Group practice standards, QA/QC procedures, and BIM protocols throughout all project phasesAssist in developing technical drawings, specifications, and documentation that align with project goals and budgetsIdentify and propose solutions to audiovisual design challenges using industry codes, standards, and best practicesCoordinate design input with architects, engineers, and other consultants to ensure integrated project deliveryProvide accurate, high-quality deliverables that meet established schedules and project requirementsParticipate in design reviews and contribute innovative ideas to advance design excellenceMaintain awareness of project workplans and manage individual deliverables to align with time and budget targetsCommunicate effectively with team members through timely written, verbal, and visual meansPursue ongoing professional and technical development, sharing knowledge and insights with peersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, architecture, or field related to audio and video equipment use and integration2-5 years of professional experience in audiovisual systems design or a related disciplineExperience designing audiovisual systems for commercial, education, or civic environmentsAbility to travel as projects requireUnderstanding of audiovisual system components, signal flow, and design documentationProficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design softwareStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAVIXA-Recognized AV Technologist (at minimum)Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary and geographically diverse teamCommitment to learning and applying DLR Group's quality standards and integrated design processesPreferred QualificationsFamiliarity with audiovisual control systems and related software platformsCTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification or progress toward certificationKnowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations affecting AV designInterest in sustainable and technology-driven design solutionsBenefits and CompensationOur comprehensive benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
