Pressure Relief Valve Technician III

Summary The role of Pressure Relief Valve Technician III involves performing expert-level tasks related to the assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of pressure relief valves and other equipment. Responsibilities include leading complex inspections, calibrations, and diagnostics, mentoring junior technicians, and ensuring compliance with advanced industry standards and regulations. The technician will also act in a leadership role, overseeing specific projects and providing technical guidance.ResponsibilitiesFollow Company Quality Standardization Procedures for all aspects of valve assembly and testingLead complex inspections to identify necessary corrective actions as authorizedPerform advanced PMI and calibration tasksAssemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirementsInstall and configure advanced instrumentation/accessories as necessaryOperate and interpret results from diagnostic equipment (i.e., EVT, AVK, Hydroset, etc.)Perform calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality proceduresMeasure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specificationsMentor and train Pressure Relief Valve Technician I and II employees through on-the-job (OJT) trainingAct in a leadership role for assigned projects and areasPositional Requirements & QualificationsEducation & ExperienceHS Education or GED Equivalent a plus5+ years of industry experienceSkills & AbilitiesMeets all Pressure Relief Valve Technician II qualifications and requirementsSuccessful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization ProceduresCompleted Green Tag Certification through Level IIICompleted advanced inspection assessmentSuccessful completion of Pressure Relief Valve Level III Written and Performance TestsCompleted advanced Pilot Valve TrainingBasic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple pressure relief valve manufacturersDemonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e., dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubingComplete certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipmentCompletion of advanced diagnostic equipment training and/or certificationDemonstrate proficiency in operating test equipment (steam, air, liquid)Demonstrate proficiency in calibration of test gauges and/or transducersComplete certification of Certified Individual (CI)Effective oral & written communication skillsDemonstrated "can do" attitude and excellent customer service skillsEssential Physical FunctionsLifting: up to 50 poundsAdjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directionsLift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feetBending, stooping, walking and climbing stairsAble to pass periodic medical evaluations and respirator fit tests to ensure continued compliance with OSHA standards.Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, rampsMoving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spacesRemaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periodsMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherCommunicating with others to exchange informationRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingersOperating machinery and/or power toolsOperating motor vehicles or heavy equipmentAssessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assignedRequired physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
