Job Summary Mohawk Valley Health System (MVHS) is currently seeking a Thoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Clinician to join our team. This full-time, hospital-employed position offers the opportunity to collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the inpatient setting. The schedule is Monday through Friday, offering an excellent work-life balance. Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a NYS License. Core Job Responsibilities Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of thoracic conditions and surgical procedures Conduct daily patient rounds, provide ongoing patient education, and assist in the coordination of multidisciplinary care Prepare and complete detailed admission history and physicals, progress notes, consults and discharge summaries with appropriate documentation in the medical record Responsible for bedside procedures including thoracentesis and chest tube insertion/removal Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans under the supervision of the thoracic surgical team EPIC EMR with Provider Support Team Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED: Master?s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner's Program OR certification from an accredited NP program OR completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Program required. Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical setting. Ability to meet and maintain credentialing requirements and hospital priviledges. Knowledge and competency in a wide range of clinical areas. Familiar with EHR/EMR software. Licensure/Certification Requirements REQUIRED: Current NYS Nurse Practitioner licenses OR Current NYS license as a Physician Assistant with prescription privileges. Current BCLS, ACLS certifications.
