Gardening/Landscaping Lead-In-Training or Lead - Seasonal FT/PT

Flower Power Gardening LLC is looking for gardeners and landscapers who love to be outside and make gardens look spectacular! We are a small gardening business that primarily conducts high-detailed garden and lawn maintenance, as well as plant installation and garden bed preparation. We offer the Lead-In-Training position to gardeners and landscapers who are looking to advance in the industry by learning more about plants and supervising. What you’ll do: Supervision of crew members while the manager is off site Driving and towing of the company vehicle and trailer (training offered for Leads-In-Training) Mowing, edging, and weeding Planting, pruning/trimming, and yard debris collection Compost, mulch, and aggregate (rock) installation Irrigation control box set-up Curb cleaning with brooms and leaf blowers Have fun! Listen to music, talk with other members of the crew, and learn more about gardening and landscaping! Experience/Ability: Previous professional and verifiable experience in gardening or landscaping is required, 1 year for Lead-In-Training and 2 years for Lead. Experience can be slightly under these listed requirements if satisfactory knowledge and expertise are demonstrated. Previous experience in high-detailed gardening is a plus for Lead-In-Training, and some is required for Lead. For applicants with 4+ years professional and verifiable experience, and with significant experience in high-detailed gardening, a Foreman position (with a different pay-scale) may be negotiated. General knowledge of plants (ornamentals) and weeds is required for both Lead-In-Training and Lead. Knowledge of native plants is a plus for Lead-In-Training and required for Lead. General knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment (mowers, edgers, leaf blowers, etc.) is required. Knowledge of how to safely use hand tools Knowledge of proper pruning techniques Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to ask for help if needed. The ability to lift 50 pounds and handle the physical demands of the job, including standing, bending, and pulling Works well independently and with a team Pay-Scales: Lead-In-Training: $23 - $25 DOE Lead: $25 - $27 DOE Benefits: Small Raise after first 2 months!
