Job DescriptionBusiness Interiors, a MillerKnoll Certified Dealer, is seeking to fill a Project Management position (On-site in Birmingham, AL) for our rapidly growing company. As part of our Client Services department, the project management position works as a team leader between our Client Advisor, Design, Support, and Field Services departments to ensure the successful completion of all projects. This position will oversee the workflow from beginning to end. At Business Interiors, we understand that every project has unique requirements, and the best results arise from our team members listening to and understanding the clients’ needs. This position will be pivotal to each project’s success.Responsibilities include:Manage all project details, ensuring each action-item is completed on time and accurately. Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordination activities, and resolving problems. Coordinate project management activities and be the point of contact for clients, architects, designers, factories, and installers. Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, planning, and schedule changes; recommending actions. Work with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives of project. Study product design, client requirements, and performance standards. Prepare cost estimates and visual packages. Read and understand bid documents and specifications. Articulate essential items and make recommendations for exclusions and inclusions. Set clear expectations for tasks and action-items for each team member responsible. Coordinate with project team to ensure timely coordination of submittals, RFI’s, and plan revisions. Create and submit punch item orders timely. Coordinate schedules with OAC to ensure accurate and timely delivery and installation. Create and maintain project schedule. The Ideal Candidate will have:Computer proficiency with programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPointStrong organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management. Ability to communicate in a positive manner technically and professionally through all means of communication. Experience negotiating with clients and vendors. Ability to read and understand architectural and structural plans. Adaptable and willing to embrace new technologies to help improve processes. Desire to work on a team in a collaborative environment. Bachelor's degree in interior design is desirable. Experience in the commercial furniture industry desirable.
