Sonoma Consulting has two business divisions - IT Consulting Services & Executive Search to serve its 150 national clients which range from entrepreneurial start-ups to Global Fortune 500.Job DescriptionDesign and engineer the VMware operating environmentTuning and enhancing the performance of the VMware operating environmentMigrations of existing VMware workloads from existing legacy environment to newer environmentsInstallation, configuration and testing of high availability and disaster recovery solutionsWorking with application teams to assist in deploying virtual workloads as neededProvide environment data and capacity management as neededCoordinating with different application, vendor and technology teamsPerforming troubleshooting on servers managed by Design & EngineeringWorking with operations to update, build, and patch VMware servers as neededProvide Level-3 Support on escalated issues/problemsCreating and maintaining documentation of the design and architecture of the VMware infrastructureEscalating issues to the TMCC Functional ManagerQualificationsVirtualization Engineer who has experience with the different versions of VMware, as well as other products within the various VMware suites. Ideally the candidate will have experience working with Storage, Networking, and other operating systems.
