Guided by our core values of Innovation, Teamwork, and Customer Care, ACT supports commercial and government customers through technical excellence and operational discipline.Job SummaryThe Composite Layup Technician is responsible for fabricating composite parts through accurate placement, orientation, and bonding of materials into molds or tooling in accordance with engineering drawings, ply books, work instructions, and quality requirements. This role focuses on the pre-cure manufacturing phase of composite components.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform hand layup of composite materials, including prepregs, fabrics, adhesives, and filmsCut, kit, and stage materials per job requirementsFollow ply books, travelers, engineering drawings, and work instructionsEnsure proper fiber orientation, ply sequence, material placement, and part configurationApply resins, adhesives, and bonding films as requiredPerform vacuum bagging, debulking, and preparation for curing processesMaintain material handling controls, including freezer life, out-time tracking, and cleanliness requirementsInspect work for conformity to specifications prior to cureComplete required manufacturing and quality documentationAdhere to safety, environmental, and quality system requirementsSupport rework and continuous improvement activitiesRequirementsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, ply books, and work instructionsStrong attention to detail and manual dexterityUnderstanding of composite materials, fiber orientation, and lamination techniques preferredAbility to work in controlled environments, including PPE requirementsBasic math and measurement skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredPrior experience in composite layup, aerospace manufacturing, or related field preferredOn-the-job training may be provided for entry-level candidatesMust be a US Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee or asylee.)ACT offers competitive pay, excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision, paid time off, holidays, company-paid life & disability insurance, 401(k) match, and profit-sharing), and a supportive team environment.ACT is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
