In this role, you will directly contribute to enabling mission success by ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of systems that process and deliver critical mission data to end users.You will play a key role in modernizing dataflows and operational systems, helping transition legacy capabilities into cloud-based environments while supporting real-time mission needs. This is a hands-on opportunity for engineers with experience or interest in dataflow technologies, including Apache NiFi, to work on impactful systems that drive decision-making and operational effectiveness across mission environments.What You'll Doprocess Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs) and implement efficient dataflow solutionsCreate and manage dataflows using Apache NiFiManage and support operational systems that process and maintain mission data Review and process Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs) and implement efficient dataflow solutionsSupport dataflow modernization efforts, including migration from hardware-based systems to virtual cloud environmentsEvaluate existing dataflows, develop requirements, and rebuild flows in collaboration with operations teamsDevelop system architecture diagrams depicting software and system functionsSupport analytical requirements and mission needsQualificationsRequired QualificationsTen (10) years of experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexityBachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or universityFive (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degreeActive TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is requiredDesired QualificationsMinimum four (4) years of experience within the Intelligence Community working with mission systems that process and manage mission dataExperience working with mission data formatsFamiliarity with Linux operating systems CLI to manage software configurations and perform software upgradesFamiliarity with Dataflow Management Requests (DMRs)Experience with Apache NiFi functionality for managing or building dataflowsExperience managing analytical needs and requirementsExperience creating system architecture diagrams depicting software and system functionsExperience with tools such as Zookeeper, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and NiFi RegistryThis position will require on-call support after approximately six (6) months of on-the-job training.DetailsTarget Salary Range: $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
