SUMMARY Mortenson is currently seeking aSenior Environmental Specialistto provide support for environmental management efforts. In this role, you will review environmental documentation and advise on environmental matters. Strong communication skills are essential as you will interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Your ability to work well in a team and collaborate is vital to your success. This position is based out of the Minneapolis, MN headquarters and requires travel to our sites. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop site specific environmental plans and activitiesReview environmental submittals and attend preconstruction and preparatory meetingsImplement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with environmental regulationsDevelop and lead environmental training programsLead best management practices for environmental managementMonitor implementation of environmental mitigation measures and conduct work site environmental inspectionsCollaborate with customers on regulatory reporting and documentation requirementsMaintain operational knowledge of environmental issues in construction, and other applicable standards, regulations, laws, and proceduresCommunicate with various third parties including the customer’s environmental personnel, environmental consultants, regulatory representativesAssist in the development company-wide Environmental Management support programsQUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, or related fieldSignificant experience with storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP)Experience with endangered species, erosion prevention and sediment control, aquatic resources, spill prevention controls and countermeasures (SPCC), and other environmental risksDeep understanding of Federal, State, Provincial and local laws, policies, and proceduresStrong organization and self-direction skills with the ability to collaborate in a team atmosphereAbility to communicate with consultants and governmental agenciesAbility to use PC, tablets and widely used software packages, e.g., spreadsheets (Excel), word processing (MS Word)Proficient with reviewing designsMinimum of eight years related experienceCurrent driver’s licenseBased out of company headquarters in Minneapolis, MN (remotely located candidates will be considered).A few benefits offered include: (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) Medical and prescription drug plans that include no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $98,800 - $133,300.(Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).
