Backend Python - Security / IAM, SSO & Authentication EngineerLocation Remote, USAUSC/GC/H1B and H4 EADABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a Backend Python Engineer with strong experience in security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Single Sign-On (SSO), and authentication frameworks. The role will focus on developing secure, scalable backend services and data workflows across AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, and Kafka-based environments. The ideal candidate will have recent healthcare data domain experience and a strong understanding of PHI/HIPAA-compliant engineering practices and HL7 ADT message formats.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Design and develop scalable Python backend services, APIs, and data-processing components.· Implement secure authentication and authorization solutions using IAM, SSO, OAuth/OIDC, and role-based access controls.· Build and support data workflows across AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, and Kafka-based platforms.· Apply security best practices for identity, access, secrets, session management, and service-to-service authentication.· Develop automated tests and validation frameworks for backend services, data pipelines, and security controls.· Implement monitoring, logging, auditing, retry, and error-handling capabilities for production systems.· Ensure PHI and sensitive healthcare data are handled in accordance with HIPAA-compliant engineering practices.· Collaborate with platform, security, data, QA, and healthcare domain teams to deliver reliable solutions.REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE· 3+ years of experience in backend engineering, data engineering, or a related software engineering role.· Strong programming experience in Python.· Hands-on experience with SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, and Kafka.· Experience implementing Security, IAM, SSO, authentication, and authorization solutions.· Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC), RBAC, token-based authentication, and identity federation.· Experience with automation and testing of backend services, integrations, and data workflows.· Understanding of secure API design, secrets management, logging, and audit controls.· Recent experience working with healthcare data and PHI/HIPAA-compliant data handling practices.· Knowledge of HL7 ADT message formats.NICE TO HAVE· Experience with FHIR-based healthcare interoperability.· Experience with PySpark and large-scale distributed data processing.· Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.· Experience integrating enterprise identity providers such as Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, or Ping Identity.
