Substation Engineering Manager - Remote
b19 has partnered with a nationally renowned power company, who are looking to build out a new division, and are seeking an experienced substation engineering manager to lead the scaling of their team. Several MSA agreements with utilities & renewable EPCs are already in place.Candidates will require prior high voltage EPC substation project experience for consideration.Responsibilities:Lead day-to-day operations of multidisciplinary substation engineering teamsDrive employee engagement, hiring, performance management, and team developmentOversee project execution including budgets, schedules, and quality deliveryDevelop and review proposals, scopes of work, and technical documentationServe as a key client point of contact and build long-term partnershipsEnsure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and codesProvide technical oversight and resolve complex engineering challengesSupport business development and represent the organization at industry events & conferencesCollaborate with internal teams (HR, PMO, Finance, Talent Acquisition) to align strategic goalsAdvance engineering tools, standards, and processes across the organizationRequirements:Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering12+ years of experience in utility substation and protection & controls engineeringExtensive experience working on substation projects at 500kV upwardsProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseProven leadership experience in EPC, Design-Build, or similar project environmentsStrong background in project delivery, QA/QC, and engineering executionExperience with proposals, budgeting, and risk managementExcellent communication skills across executive and technical audiencesDemonstrated ability to mentor and grow engineering teamsWillingness to travel up to 25%If interested, please apply with an updated resume.
