Construction Manager – Industrial Boiler ConstructionLocation: Farmington, New MexicoEmployment Type: Direct HireSalary Range: $147,500 – $160,500Travel: Up to 50%Ideal Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate is a technically strong, field-driven construction leader with deep expertise in industrial boiler projects. They thrive in complex environments, take ownership of project outcomes, and consistently deliver safe, high-quality results while maintaining strong client relationships and protecting project profitability.Position OverviewThe Construction Manager is responsible for leading and executing industrial boiler and power generation construction projects across a multi-state region. This role oversees all phases of project delivery—from initial bid and planning through execution and closeout—ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.This position requires a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise in industrial boiler construction, strong financial acumen, and the ability to manage complex, high-risk field operations.Key ResponsibilitiesLead full lifecycle project execution, including RFQ support, planning, construction, and closeoutManage project financials, including budgets, forecasting, cost tracking, and profitability (P&L)Oversee construction activities across multiple projects and geographic locationsCoordinate with engineering, procurement, field teams, and clients to ensure seamless executionMonitor and manage project scope, schedule, and change control processesIdentify and pursue new project opportunities within the assigned regionEnsure compliance with contract terms, safety standards, and company policiesProvide leadership and direction to superintendents, field engineers, subcontractors, and craft laborAddress and resolve critical project issues and escalate as neededMaintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and labor organizationsSupport staffing and resource allocation for project sitesRequired Experience10–20+ years of construction experience5+ years in a Construction Manager, Superintendent, or equivalent field leadership roleDirect experience in industrial boiler or power generation construction (required)Experience managing large-scale projects ranging from $10M to $100M+Background in brownfield or operating plant environmentsProven success managing outages with compressed schedules and multiple contractorsNote: Candidates with only commercial or residential construction experience will not be considered.Technical ExpertiseStrong knowledge of:Boiler erection sequencingPressure part installation and weldingStructural steel systems and support infrastructureHeavy rigging and crane operationsFamiliarity with:Weld quality and inspection processesTemporary construction systems (scaffolding, access, supports)High-elevation and tight-clearance work environmentsProven ability to:Develop and execute detailed construction work plansManage labor productivity and workforce planningTrack project costs, forecast trends, and mitigate overrunsDevelop and manage schedules, including recovery planningSafety LeadershipDemonstrated commitment to safety as a core component of executionExperience managing high-risk activities, including:Work at heightConfined space entryHot work in industrial environmentsHeavy lifts and rigging operationsEnergy isolation / lockout-tagout (LOTO)Leads by example through:Pre-task planning and risk mitigationField presence and active supervisionAccountability across all levels of the project teamLeadership & Team ManagementHands-on, field-focused leadership styleExperience managing union and/or non-union labor environmentsAbility to lead and develop:SuperintendentsField engineersProject teamsStrong decision-making skills in high-pressure, outage-driven environmentsAbility to hold teams accountable while maintaining strong working relationshipsCommunication & Stakeholder ManagementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to effectively interface with:Clients and owner representativesEngineering and QA/QC teamsSafety and project controlsCapable of clearly communicating:Technical challengesSchedule impactsCost and risk considerationsWork Environment & TravelBased in Spring, TX with 100% in-office presence when not travelingTravel up to 50%, depending on project demandsMix of local site visits and interstate travelSome weeks may require extensive travel, others primarily office-basedSeasonal fluctuations in travel intensityCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary: $147,500 – $160,500Performance-based bonus program:Potential to earn up to 50% of base salaryBonuses tied to project profitability and margin performanceIndividual project bonuses may reach significant levels on large-scale projectsComprehensive benefits package including:401(k)Health, dental, and vision insurancePreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree or technical degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of construction/project experience6+ years of leadership or management experience
