The company develops and operates grid-connected and islanded energy systems, enabling customers to better manage cost, reliability, and sustainability. The RoleAs an Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and developing electrical systems for onsite power and microgrid projects. This position involves both conceptual and detailed engineering work across a range of project types, from distributed generation systems to larger-scale power infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with broad exposure across design, analysis, procurement, and project support, working closely with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to conceptual design of onsite power and microgrid solutions, including natural gas generation (combustion turbines and reciprocating engines), grid-synchronous switchgear, and integration of solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), based on customer requirements and technical specificationsPerform detailed electrical engineering design and analysis, including development of single-line diagrams, control schematics, protection schemes, sequence of operations, and integration across low, medium, and high voltage systems, including utility interconnectionBuild and execute system models using tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, BlockSim, or similar to evaluate performance across reliability, availability, maintainability, load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, transient response, and arc flash scenariosDevelop technical specifications for key electrical components (e.g., medium and low voltage switchgear), support vendor engagement and quoting, and participate in factory acceptance testing to ensure equipment performance and compliancePrepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and internal design standards, ensuring alignment with industry codes, regulatory requirements, and project needsSupport commercial and business development efforts by participating in customer discussions, site visits, and technical presentations, and by helping translate customer requirements into engineered solutionsIdentify and evaluate technical risks across projects, incorporating mitigation strategies related to design, performance, safety, and regulatory considerationsStay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to continuously improve system design, efficiency, and overall project outcomesCollaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory bodies, providing technical expertise and supporting successful project executionQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related fieldExperience in power systems engineering, ideally within generation, microgrids, or energy infrastructureFamiliarity with electrical system design and analysis for complex projectsProficiency with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, PSCAD, BlockSim, and ExcelUnderstanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to travel as neededPreferred ExperienceExperience with distributed energy systems, microgrids, or energy storageFamiliarity with SCADA systems and generator operationsExperience supporting mission-critical infrastructure (e.g., data centers)Exposure to additional design or modeling tools (e.g., Revit)What’s OfferedCompetitive compensationComprehensive benefits package401(k) planFlexible work environmentOpportunity to contribute to a high-growth energy platform
