When you work with St. Clair Signs, you're working with a committed team that is dedicated to excellence.St. Clair Signs maintains an in-house Permit Procurement Department serving jurisdictions across South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia, holding business licenses in multiple cities, towns, and counties, and working closely with a network of engineers, plan reviewers, and city officials built over many years of service.What You'll DoFinance & AccountingManage day-to-day accounting functions: accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and financial recordkeeping.Perform general bookkeeping duties to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Desktop.Prepare financial reports and reconciliations for ownership review.Permitting & ProcurementManage the full permitting lifecycle for sign projects across SC, NC, and GA. This includes code research, permit applications, variance requests, and required meetings.Plan and track permit timelines, accounting for standard three-week jurisdiction review periods and project deadlines.Liaise with plan reviewers, city officials, and regulatory agencies across multiple jurisdictions with a professionalism and relationship-first approach.Handle road right-of-way applications, street and sidewalk closures, encroachment permits, and other public safety-related requirements.Coordinate with engineers for sealed and stamped artwork required for permitting submissions.Maintain and manage business licenses across all required jurisdictions.Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers on permitting questions, requirements, and status updates.GeneralCommunicate professionally and promptly via email and phone. We need someone who isn't afraid to pick up the phone.Collaborate closely with the team and support operational needs as they ariseWhat We're Looking ForBachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Desktop.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Strong understanding of accounting principles.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to build and maintain professional relationships with external agencies and internal team members.Warm, professional interpersonal style, a true team player.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.Bonus Points (Preferred But Not Required):CPA designation or progress toward licensurePrior permitting experience, particularly in the signage, construction, or municipal/regulatory spaceFamiliarity with jurisdictions across SC, NC, or GA.Background in signage, construction, or a regulated industry.What We OfferAll benefits are granted after 90 days of employment unless otherwise noted.Time Off6 Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas DayPTO: Prorated at 3 days (24 hours) for the 2026 calendar year; increases to a full week (5 days/40 hours) beginning January 1, 2027, with additional accrual tied to years of serviceHealth & WellnessMedical Insurance through United Healthcare.
