Vice President of Accounting - Power & InfrastructurePrivate Investment Firm | Greenville, SCA well‑capitalized, privately held investment firm with a diversified portfolio across renewable energy, conventional power, and infrastructure assets (~$2B AUM) is seeking a Vice President of Accounting to join its leadership team.This is a newly created role supporting a growing Power & Infrastructure platform, with direct visibility to senior leadership and close partnership with the investment team. The firm is known for its disciplined investment approach, long‑term ownership mindset, and institutional quality standards.This role is ideal for a technically strong accounting leader who enjoys working at the intersection of investment structuring, complex accounting, and portfolio performance, and thrives in an environment that blends strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.VP of Accounting Responsibilities:Lead accounting and tax support for new investments, including evaluation of tax equity, partnership structures, and project finance arrangementsPartner directly with investment professionals, legal counsel, and external advisors on deal structuring and executionReview monthly and quarterly financials across a diverse portfolio of operating assets, ensuring accuracy and GAAP complianceAnalyze actual performance vs. underwriting assumptions, including cash flow, debt service, and tax credit generationOversee partnership accounting, HLBV allocations, and balance sheet integrity across entitiesSupport forecasting, budgeting, and portfolio analytics, including hold/sell analysis and long‑term planningLead accounting onboarding and integration for newly acquired or developed assetsEstablish reporting frameworks, chart of accounts alignment, and process improvements across the platformTrack project finance and tax equity covenants, ensuring ongoing compliance and visibilityServe as a key liaison across Accounting, Tax, and Investment teams, as well as third‑party providers and auditorsVP of Accounting Qualifications/Requirements:8+ years of progressive accounting experienceCPA requiredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including partnership accounting and HLBVDirect experience within energy, infrastructure, or project finance environmentsExposure to tax equity structures, partnership flips, or complex investment structuresExperience working alongside investment or deal teams on transactions and ongoing portfolio managementProven ability to analyze and interpret financial statements, cash flows, and operational performanceAdvanced Excel skills; experience with data/BI tools is a plusStrong communicator who can effectively engage across technical accounting, tax, and investment stakeholdersComfortable operating in a dynamic, growth‑oriented environment with evolving processes
