Legal Assistant

Job Location:Corporate IndianapolisAdministrative (Legal) Assistant - Legal Leasing. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: The Administrative Assistant for the Legal Leasing Department will provide clerical support to assigned Attorneys and/or Paralegals as they engage in all phases of the negotiation and documentation of retail leases and related documents.Responsibilities Include:Creation and revision of legal documents at the direction of the Attorneys/Paralegals and in accordance with all corporate/departmental policies and proceduresAssisting as required in follow-up communication with tenants as well as with Leasing personnel in an effort to expedite the document negotiation processPeriodic printing/distribution of reports and other documents as required by the Attorneys/ParalegalsMaintaining an accurate filing system for all documents being drafted by the Attorneys/ParalegalsServing as the communication “gatekeeper” for all external and internal communication for the Attorneys or Paralegals, including performing general telephone duties, scheduling conference calls; taking messages and routing phone callsThe Successful Candidate Will:Be proficient in Microsoft Word with excellent typing skillsHave a working knowledge of ExcelHave or be able to quickly acquire proficiency in Lotus NotesHave excellent verbal and written communication skillsHave a professional, “customer service” demeanorBe flexible and demonstrate a willingness to assist othersHave the ability to work independently without direct supervisionBe self-motivated and take a problem-solving approach to workPossess excellent time management/organizational skillsHave the ability to meet deadlines while working well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
