The Assembler II aligns components with jigs or fixtures, utilizes various measuring instruments, performs light electrical bonding, and is familiar with many process specifications. The Assembler II is reliable, knowledgeable, and sufficiently skilled in assembly standards and duties. REPORTS TOThe Assembler II directly reports to the Assembly SupervisorMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITIONEducation, Training, and/or ExperienceU.S. Citizen or Permanent ResidentHigh School Diploma or equivalentMinimum of one (1) year of experience in Composite ManufacturingMinimum of two (2) years of experience in Aircraft AssemblyPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this jobFrequently sit or stand for extended periods of timeFrequently required to use eye-hand coordination, fine motor skills, and manual dexterityConstantly use hands to hold steady, handle, grasp, or feelFrequently twist and reach to shoulder levelOccasionally walk, squat, kneel, use foot controls, or perform vibratory tasksRegularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds without assistanceSpecific vision abilities include close, color, distance and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus Hearing level within normal/average rangeWork with or in the presence of hazardous chemicals, resins, and fiberglass as required (PPE provided as necessary)ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIESTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Intermediate skill in composite bonding, sealing, and potting compoundsKnowledge and understanding of process specifications and manufacturing plan interpretationAttention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and safety Basic understanding of GD&T and technical drawingsAbility to use complex and basic hand and pneumatic tools to drill, countersink, fit, rivet, and finish partsAbility to effectively read, write, and communicate in the English language Ability to process information and problem-solve accordinglyAbility to assist other team members as requiredUse of general math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), the Standard unit of measurement, and coordinating toolsUse of general math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, and divide), the Standard unit of measurement, and coordinating toolsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Trim, drill, countersink, and ream metal and composite details with tooling/aidsWet and dry installation of permanent and non-permanent fasteners with tooling/aidsPerform basic electrical bonding applicationsApply decorative laminate and pressure sensitive tapesMeasure, mix, and apply adhesives, epoxies, potting compounds, and moldable shimsAssist with cross-training other team members as requiredBond and assemble medium to large and/or moderately complex assemblies with tooling/aidsComplete work with quality and accuracy; completing and following all documentation providedSelf-manage time and workflow through personal work areaPerform basic rework, repairs, and assemblies with efficiency and consistencyMaintain material quantities and operation requirements (Acceptance Authority Media) throughout all workMaintain a safe, organized, FOD-free work area with a focus on lean principles as instructedOther duties as assignedManagement reserves the right to assign and/or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
