Job Summary This position is responsible for conducting and evaluating tests on both production and prototype products for airflow, sound, and vibration per AMCA standards. This also requires maintaining test equipment, documenting all test procedures, keeping log of all tests, and maintaining lab certification with AMCA. This position involves researching, testing, and proving feasibility of potential new products and product enhancements for future transition to new product development. There will also be requirements to perform full engineering analysis on failed components either through internal testing or through a field failure. This will include identifying the root cause of the failure and assisting in identifying appropriate corrective actions and/or improvements. Responsibilities and Duties:Perform air, sound, vibration, over-speed tests and other mechanical testing as requiredPrepare customer test reportsMaintain laboratory certification records and conduct calibration testsAssemble and setup up test fans while verifying that fan dimensions agree with drawingsUse in-house computer programs to record and analyze test resultsMaintain laboratory test logsConduct physical inventory of goods in the laboratoryAssist in designs and modifications of new and existing productsTest and prepare AMCA check test fansResponsible for obtaining all components and materials necessary for testing fans including fan parts, ductwork, drive components etc.Modify fans and other types of equipment if necessaryTroubleshoot field problems and recommend correctionsLead problem solving resolution, root-cause analysis including testing, assembly and disassemblyAssist other engineering functions as neededAbility to inspect product materials and systems for defects and durabilityShould be a good team player as they have to collaborate with various departments (e.g. manufacturing, production, engineering & customer service)Write up fan failure analysis reports on returned goods Requirements Qualifications and Required Skills:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferred1+ years rotating equipment testing experience and knowledge of instrumentation is preferredFamiliarity with "SolidWorks" and/or AutoCAD would be an advantageMust be able to read blueprintsGood understanding of aerodynamics, sound, and vibrationExcellent oral and written communication skills including technical report writing are requiredMust be a team player and work well independently or with little supervisionProficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is requiredFlexible and adaptive to change.Willingness to do what it takes to get the job done correctly, accurately, and timelyOrganized to maintain project completion in a timely manner and an ability to understand priorities, while following through in project management.Neatness and accuracy in calculation and documentation are required
