Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position SummaryThis recruitment will be used to fill part-time Media Hub Consultant positions (up to 20 hours per week, as needed) within Media Hub, a division of Academic Technologies under Business Architecture in University Information & Technology (UIT) at Oregon State University (OSU). Positions are primarily located in The Valley Library.Media Hub (MH) is a student-initiated multimedia unit that serves all currently enrolled OSU students, faculty, and staff. The primary mission of Media Hub is to provide multimedia facilities, equipment, and technical support to support the production and presentation of academic work. Media Hub also collaborates with faculty and staff to create and deliver media that enhances teaching, training, research, and outreach.This position includes four consultant tracks: Customer Service Consultant, Equipment/Studio Maintenance & Support Consultant, Production Consultant, and Social Media Consultant. Consultants provide support through face-to-face, email, Zoom, and phone interactions.This position requires the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds, sit or stand for extended periods (3-8 hours per shift), and wear closed-toe shoes. All hires must successfully pass a background check and within 30 days complete required critical training are completed. This role includes processing client requests, providing basic technical media support, coordinating spaces and equipment, and supporting daily front-desk operations.Position DutiesGreet students, staff, and faculty and respond to general multimedia support inquiries.Create, process, and manage media production requests and equipment checkout/check-in orders.Answer multiple phone lines and monitor email accounts and web-based collaboration tools (e.g., Zoom).Process web- and email-based service requests in Media Hub systems.Schedule presentation classrooms, interview rooms, studios, and media lab reservations.Provide scheduled technical support for classrooms, studios, and media computer labs.Perform opening and closing office procedures.Maintain clean, organized, and welcoming public and work spaces.Perform copying, sorting, filing, and basic administrative tasks.Organize and maintain office files and forms.Assist with communications and administrative programming.Escort users to and from secure areas as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Equipment / Studio Maintenance & Support ConsultantRole SummaryEquipment and Studio Maintenance Consultants ensure Media Hub equipment, studios, and presentation spaces are clean, organized, and fully operational while providing a positive customer service experience.Position DutiesClean, organize, and maintain media equipment storage areas and shelving.Prepare equipment kits for checkout, ensuring all components are present and in good working order.Clean and manage laptops and media equipment, following data storage and privacy protocols.Accurately document equipment status, inventory, and usage in Media Hub systems.Identify, document, and report damaged or non-functional equipment to leadership.Set up, support, and tear down presentation classrooms, interview rooms, and recording studios.Ensure studio and presentation technology is operational and assist with basic troubleshooting as needed.Participate in ongoing training and professional development related to media technologies and productivity tools.Perform other duties as assigned.Production ConsultantRole SummaryProduction Consultants provide basic production services, including large-format printing, lamination, mounting and finishing. This role emphasizes quality control, organization, and compliance with OSU guidelines while delivering excellent customer service.Position DutiesProcess production orders, including poster printing, trimming, mounting, laminating, binding, scanning, and packaging.Verify that all production files comply with OSU Brand Guidelines prior to printing.Use appropriate software tools to ensure file accuracy, including fonts, images, and layout.Maintain organized digital and physical file storage using defined naming and retention practices.Maintain a clean, safe, and organized production workspace.Successfully complete knife safety training and follow all safety procedures.Follow established production workflows and processes.Notify leadership of equipment issues, tool damage, or order discrepancies.Perform other duties as assigned.Social Media ConsultantRole SummarySocial Media Consultants support Media Hub communications by creating and publishing visual content.
