Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Employment Type: InternshipStart Date: Summer, SpringDepartment: Engineering Research & DevelopmentCompensation: $20 - $34 HourlyAbout the program:As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting the company’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.Responsibilities:You will be mainly accountable for:Safety – Responsible for identifying and improving safety at the site through the use of technology, work cell redesign, improved ergonomics, and other means. Quality - Responsible for helping to deliver world-class quality by writing work instructions, completing PFMEAs, setting up FAI/inspection criteria, poke-yoke, error proofing, and managing ECNs and CAPAs as they arise.Delivery – This role will be responsible for delivering capacity improvements to the operations by identifying and executing projects to remove bottlenecks and meet customer demand.Lean – Execute Lean Manufacturing concepts through time studies, balancing assembly operations, value stream mapping, 3P new production lines or changes, implementing poke-yoke, and driving improvements to material scheduling, delivery, and presentation at the site. Project Management – The individual will be responsible for planning and executing multiple projects at the same time and utilizing good project management skills by managing risk, and understanding critical path and dependencies to meet project goals on time.Change Management – This individual will lead change at the site and must work collaboratively with stakeholders, manage phase in / phase out of changes, and have robust follow through on changes to ensure success.Be able to see opportunities for improvement, and put together a financial business case and project plan to initiate the change.Qualification:Currently enrolled in a master's or bachelor's degree program in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical, Electrical, Materials, or Packaging engineering in the United States.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutionsEffectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlinesDemonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising qualityCollaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progressAbout us:We are an HR consultancy firm, and we help candidates match with the potential roles by using an Artificial Intelligence System which is free of cost.
