Engineering InternLocation: Harlan, IABusiness Unit: Industrial SolutionsJob Type: InternshipReports To: Quality ManagerPosition SummaryCPM Holdings, Inc. is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Engineering Intern to support engineering, drafting, and manufacturing layout initiatives within the Industrial Solutions business unit in Harlan, Iowa. This internship provides hands‑on experience working with engineering documentation, bills of materials (BOMs), part drawings, and facility layout projects in a manufacturing environment. The intern will partner closely with engineering, operations, and inventory teams to support year‑end inventory targets and documentation standardization efforts.CPM Holdings, Inc. is a diversified global supplier of process equipment and engineered technologies that sustainably feed, fuel, and build a better world. Founded in 1883, CPM operates across multiple industries including agriculture, food, bioenergy, and advanced materials.Key ResponsibilitiesCreate and modify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for roller shell assemblies to support inventory accuracy and year‑end inventory level targetsComplete print comparison and rationalization for non‑CPM supplied parts to ensure documentation consistency and alignmentDevelop and update engineering drawings for Carlson part numbers (non‑CPM parts)Assist with layout planning and organization of the South Building assembly area, supporting efficient assembly flow and space utilizationCreate new engineering prints for non‑CPM part numbers (including dies and roller assemblies) using the CPM title block and drafting standardsCollaborate with engineering and operations team members to ensure drawings and BOMs align with manufacturing and inventory needsSupport additional engineering or documentation‑related projects as assignedQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related discipline)Basic understanding of engineering drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentationExperience with or exposure to CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) preferredStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlinesProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)Effective communication skills and willingness to learn in a hands‑on manufacturing environmentLearning OpportunitiesPractical experience supporting real‑world manufacturing and inventory initiativesExposure to engineering documentation standards within a global manufacturing organizationCollaboration with cross‑functional teams including engineering, operations, and inventoryOpportunity to build foundational skills applicable to future engineering rolesWhat We OfferHands‑on engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentExposure to CPM’s engineering standards, systems, and production processesSupportive learning environment with mentorship from experienced engineersCompetitive internship compensation (based on experience and academic standing)Equal Opportunity EmployerCPM Holdings, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
